sarhul: In Sarhul, Cm Soren transforms Santa for tribals and announces welfare measures | Ranchi News

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the Sarhul festival on Monday and announced several welfare measures for the tribal community.
Among the announcements are the construction of a model hostel for girls, the renovation of tribal hostels run by the Welfare Department, the sponsorship of mess and canteen services by the state government and the construction of a state-of-the-art Sarna Sthal in Siram Toli. .
Addressing a rally at the Adivasi hostel in Karamtoli, Soren said: “I was told that tribal girls who migrate to Ranchi for studies find it difficult to afford the high accommodation rates (from private hostels /paying guests and rented houses). With this in mind, we will renovate the tribal hostels run by the state welfare department. »
He added that the state government would also provide mess services for these hostels. “Cooks and security guards will be hired for each hostel so that students receive nutritious meals at their place of stay.”
Welcoming Soren’s announcement, Jagarnath Oraon, a hotelier, told TOI, “We contribute food among ourselves, which becomes a challenge for poor students.”
Soren also planted a Sakhua tree in the hostel premises as part of the festival and said tribal culture teaches to protect the environment and avoid evils.
