Police appeal for missing Cirencester man as ‘concerns for his well-being’ grow

A 78-year-old man has disappeared from Cirencester.

John Chambers was last seen on Watermoore Road walking towards the town of Cirencester at around 8:50 a.m. this morning (Tuesday June 1).

John has memory problems and the Gloucestershire Police are “concerned for his well-being”.

He is described as white, of medium build, and 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen him to call 101.

A Gloucestershire Police statement said: ‘We are asking for assistance in locating a man who has been missing since he left an address in Cirencester.

“Concern is growing for the well-being of John Chambers78, who was last seen on Watermoore Road walking towards the town of Cirencester at around 8:50 am this morning.

“John is believed to be traveling on foot.

“He is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with gray hair, glasses and an average build.

“He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt, blue jeans or sweatpants and a fawn colored jacket.

“John has memory problems, so we are concerned for his well-being.”

Police are asking anyone who saw him or knows his whereabouts to call Gloucestershire Police on 101 and cite Incident 129 on 1 June.
