Parliament to focus on welfare, impact of UPSR abolition, PT3 today

KUALA LUMPUR (August 1): Is the rate of financial assistance provided by the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) to existing beneficiaries in line with the current cost of living? This will be one of the issues to be discussed in the Dewan Rakyat today.

The issue will be raised by Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Sharif (BN-Jempol) during the question-and-answer session in a question to the Minister of Women’s Family and Community Development.

Mohd Salim wants to know if the ministry plans to review the financial aid rate to be in line with the current cost of living. 3 Assessment (PT3), through a question to the Minister of Education by Natrah Ismail (PH-Sekijang).

She also wants the Minister to indicate how to measure the achievements of university students for admission to boarding schools or colleges for Form 3 leavers.

There will also be a question from Pang Hok Liong (PH-Labis) to the Minister of Finance on total national reserves as of May 2022 and total international reserves of Bank Negara as of May 2022.

Pang also wants to know about plans to increase national reserves.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) will ask the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture to state the criteria which will be refined by the ministry to open the country’s border to more foreign countries like China. China.

Parliament sitting today will also see the House continue its second reading debate of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Amendment) Bill 2022, the Armed Forces Fund (Amendment) Bill 2022 and the Tobacco Products and Smoking Control Act 2022. — Bernama
